Affiliate disclosure
In plain language: some links to shops may earn us a commission. It costs you nothing extra and it changes nothing about what we say. Here is the full detail.

What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link to a shop carrying an identifier of ours. If you buy after clicking it, the shop pays us a commission on that sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had arrived on your own: the commission comes out of the seller margin, not your pocket.
When a link is an affiliate link, the page says so next to the price, not in a notice hidden at the bottom.
Why they do not influence recommendations
The order of recommendations comes from the criteria explained in each guide, not from the commission. In practice that means concrete, checkable things:
- We recommend machines and materials that have no affiliate programme at all, and we will keep doing so.
- If the best option for your case is the cheapest one, or a second-hand one, or not buying yet, that is what the guide says.
- No shop pays to appear, to appear first, or to appear with a nicer description.
- No commercial agreement includes copy approval.
If an affiliate agreement ever came with conditions attached to the content, we would not sign it, and if it were already signed we would break it and say so here.
3D files earn us nothing
When we feature a printable model, we always link to the original creator page on their platform — Printables, Thingiverse, MakerWorld, Cults or wherever they published it — under their own licence. We do not host the file, we do not redistribute it, and we earn nothing if you download or buy it.
That is an editorial decision: whoever designed the part deserves the visit, the attribution and, if it is paid, the sale.
Current state
This page has existed since day one so that the rule was written before the incentive was. Every price and every link states on its own page whether it is an affiliate link, so the real status is always read on the page you are looking at, not on this one.
