Bambu Studio
Bambu Lab's official slicer: free, open source under AGPL-3.0 and derived from PrusaSlicer. The natural route if you own an A1, P1S or X1.
Bambu Studio is the program used to prepare files for Bambu Lab printers. It is published on GitHub under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, so it can be used and modified freely, and it ships compiled for Windows, macOS and Linux (AppImage for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04). It inherits the PrusaSlicer codebase, itself descended from Slic3r, and adds AMS multi-material handling, direct network sending to the printer and per-object preview. For a beginner its real advantage is that profiles arrive already tuned by the manufacturer: no temperature or flow calibration before the first part. The flip side is the same fact: it is designed around the Bambu Lab ecosystem, and using it with other brands is possible but not its home ground.

- Sending jobs over the network without a microSD card
Limitations
- Built for the Bambu Lab ecosystem: with other brands you build profiles by hand
- Fewer exposed settings than OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer in expert mode
- Some network features route through the manufacturer's cloud
- A smaller third-party profile community than Cura or PrusaSlicer
