Short definition
The glass transition temperature is the point at which an amorphous plastic goes from rigid to rubbery, and it marks the practical service limit of a printed part.
Full definition
It is not a melting point: the part does not melt, it softens and loses stiffness, and under load it deforms gradually. Data sheets usually list it alongside heat deflection temperature (HDT), which is the practical figure: Prusa reports 55 °C for PLA, 68 °C for PETG, 93 °C for ASA and 113 °C for its PC Blend, all at 0.45 MPa. That is the number to check before printing a part for a car dashboard or a lamp.
