Post-curing

Short definition
Post-curing is the final ultraviolet exposure a resin part receives after washing, and it is what leaves it hard and no longer tacky.
Full definition
A part fresh off the printer is soft and sticky because it still holds unpolymerised resin on its surface. The full process is three steps: wash in isopropyl alcohol or water depending on the resin, dry, and cure under ultraviolet light. Prusa recommends not washing for more than ten minutes in isopropyl alcohol, because prolonged exposure causes micro-cracks on the surface. Until a part is post-cured it is still resin and still an irritant: handle it with gloves.
